We are experienced in both environmental sustainability and workplace safety, ensuring that our clients are meeting their social and environmental responsibilities.

WHAT CAN WE HELP YOU WITH?

Environmental Sustainability Services

1

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

LCA is a method for evaluating the environmental impact of a product or process across its entire life cycle, from production to disposal, to inform sustainable decision-making.

We perform LCA studies according to the main international methodologies, such as but not limited to:

  • ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards

  • PEF and OEF methods

Science Based Targets (SBT)

SBTs are reduction targets set by companies to align with climate science and limit global warming as recommended by the Paris Agreement. These targets are verified and approved by the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).

We can assist you in setting near-term and net-zero science-based targets, from quantifying your company's emissions to getting your target officially validated and recognised.

2

Carbon Footprint of Products, Organisations and Events

Carbon footprint studies, following LCA principles, focus on greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions. Product studies track a product's full GHG emissions over its life cycle, while corporate studies measure emissions from an organisation's operations.

We perform these analyses following the main international standards, such as but not limited to:

  • ISO 14064 and ISO 14067 standards

  • GHG Protocol

  • PAS 2050

4

Various Sustainability Services

In addition to the macro-categories described, we can help you on a number of sustainability topics, such as (but not limited to):

  • Water footprint assessment according to ISO 14046

  • Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

  • Sustainability reporting

  • Sustainability assessment of investments

  • Circular economy

  • Science Based Targets for Nature (SBTN)

Industrial Hygiene

Industrial hygiene is key for a safe, healthy workplace. It aims to prevent diseases and injuries by managing various risks. This field uses advanced techniques for hazard assessment and effective control measures, enhancing worker safety, productivity, and reducing injury-related costs, benefiting the overall company well-being.

In this field, we perform the following risk assessments, according to national or ISO standards:

  • Noise

  • Vibrations

  • Chemical

  • Manual handling

  • ATEX

  • Biological

  • Electromagnetic fields

  • Artificial optical radiations

  • Ionising radiations

  • Workplace microclimate

  • Video-terminal

  • Ergonomic

  • Electrical

2

Workplace Safety

Workplace safety is the practice of creating a safe and healthy environment for employees, focusing on identifying and reducing job-related risks and hazards. The goal is to ensure employee well-being and compliance with safety standards.

In this field, we offer the following services:

  • Ad interim HSE Manager

  • HSE training

  • Assessment of work related stress

  • Drafting of emergency and evacuation plans

  • Risk assessment of working at heights

  • Risk assessment of working in confined spaces

  • Drafting of single document for risk assessment of interference

Fire Engineering

Fire engineering is the application of science and engineering to protect against fire hazards. It involves designing fire prevention and suppression systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing safety strategies. Fire engineers focus on minimising fire risks and enhancing safety in various settings, playing a crucial role in protecting lives and property.

In this field, we offer the following services:

  • Engineering and consulting for activities falling within the scope of the D.P.R. of 01/08/2011 – No. 151 and subject to the control of the Provincial Commands of the Fire Brigade

  • Procedures aimed at obtaining the Fire Prevention Certificate

  • Fire risk assessment

  • Firefighting training courses

  • Engineering and certification of:

    • Firefighting water network

    • Gas/foam extinguishing system

    • Fire detection and alarm system

    • Smoke and heat evacuation system

  • Drafting of certifications for resistance and reaction to fire (REI certification and product declaration)

  • Design and testing of:

    • Hydrant networks

    • Automatic fire extinguishing system

    • Sprinkler system

    • Inert gas system

    • Foam system

    • Water curtain system

    • Smoke detection system

    • Smoke and heat evacuation system

Radon risk assessment and engineering

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can pose serious health risks, particularly lung cancer, when accumulated in buildings.

Companies have a legal responsibility to provide a safe working environment and failure to manage radon risks can lead to legal liabilities, including fines and lawsuits, especially if employees develop health problems due to radon exposure.

We have the knowledge to recommend and implement effective remediation measures, such as ventilation systems or building modifications, to reduce radon levels to safe limits.

We can design continuous monitoring and regular updates about radon levels, that are essential for long-term safety. In addition, we can provide ongoing maintenance and advice to ensure that radon levels remain within safe limits.

Among the activities that can be carried out are:

  • Monitoring and analysis of radon gas levels inside the building using instruments to measure the concentration of radon in the air

  • Identification of the entryways of radon gas into the building

  • Assessment of the corrective measures necessary to reduce radon gas levels

  • Development of an intervention plan to remediate the building

  • Verification of the effectiveness of remediation measures through further monitoring of radon levels in the building
